My trip to Vietnam turned out to be better than I expected” - many travelers say the same thing after a wonderful vacation in Vietnam. However, some tourists might not want to come back to Vietnam for a number of reasons. Let’s hear what the passionist travelers say about Vietnam and learn about their experience while visiting the country.

“My trip to Vietnam” by Peter Brown

Peter Brown’s work is writing children’s books and drawing illustrations. He was invited to Vietnam by the United Nations International School. During his two-week trip, he managed to visit the highlights of Vietnam and had an overall wonderful experience.

Accompanied by Sung - a Black Hmong woman, Peter spent three days exploring the countryside of Sapa. They hike through the mountain trails, visit the small villages of the hill tribes and admire the spectacular views of terraced rice paddies, jungles and waterfalls.

Peter’s favorite moment is having lunch in Lao Chai village. Peter, Sung and her friends ate satéed veggies and pork. These are just some simple Vietnamese traditional dishes, but Peter thought they were extremely delicious.

After that, Peter came back to Hanoi and headed to Halong Bay. He boarded a boat called The Calypso and cruised around Halong Bay to admire the amazing mountain islands, visit spectacular caves or go kayaking.

“My trip to Vietnam” by Alyson for World Travel Family

Alyson and her family lived in Hoi An for a while and she claimed that she had “nothing but wonderful experiences” in Vietnam. The Vietnamese are the most hospitable, kindest and nicest people one could meet. There are some taxi driver or street vendor scams. That’s why it’s important to haggle over prices before you go on a taxi or buy anything on the streets.

Crossing the road might be quite a challenge and only ride a scooter if you have suitable travel insurance and international motorbike license. There’s a myriad of must-visit destinations in Vietnam. One of the most highly-recommended places for Alyson is Phong Nha National Park. Here you will get to discover some of the largest and most beautiful caves in the world.

If you’re planning to visit Saigon, don’t forget to explore Cu Chi tunnels. You can combine this tour with a Mekong Delta tour. One of the best attractions in Ho Chi Minh City for history lovers is the War Remnants Museum. In contradiction with Saigon, Hoian is a small ancient town with old buildings, lanterns, beaches and nearby rice paddies. Hanoi, on the other hand, is a dynamic and a little noisy capital city. Here you can see many historic buildings, the Old Quarter or beautiful lakes.
