Lung Cu Flag Tower was built in 1887 during the time of the French colonization of Vietnam. The tower is located in the Dong Van district of Ha Giang Province, close to the Chinese border. The flag pole that is mounted atop the tower is 33 meters high and weighs about 60 tons. It is one of the tallest flagpoles in the country.
