Tran Quoc Pagoda in Hanoi dates back to the 6th century when it was built on the banks of the Red River. It was originally named Khai Quoc (National Founding) Pagoda by Emperor Ly Nam De and was later renamed Tran Quoc (Stabilizing the Nation) Pagoda by Emperor Le Huy Tong.
